Our conversation turned to more personal, intimate things. Well, my personal, intimate things, to be specific. He shifted topics so smoothly I never had a chance. I told him things I never told anyone, not my sister, not anyone. I told him all about my first kiss, my childhood fears, I even gave him all the gory details of the night I lost my virginity. We talked and we drank and we drank some more, and he moved closer and closer into my personal space. That wonderful stench grew stronger and stronger and I felt my temperature rising. Then I saw something I couldn't have seen. Gray's kitchen had big, lovely sliding glass doors, which opened up onto a large balcony. And standing outside in the glow of the kitchen's light and looking in at us was an enormous, black wolf. It had piercing yellow eyes that stared right at me. It looked as strange standing on the balcony as Gray had standing in McNally's."Kelly, are you okay?" Gray's voice snapped my attention away from the wolf."Your balcony, there's…" He turned and we both stared out the glass doors but the wolf was gone. Vanished."What? Did you see something?" He asked with genuine concern.I shook it off and told him it was the alcohol. We resumed our intimate flirting and once again it was only a matter of seconds before we'd forgotten the little hiccup had ever happened. I remember deciding it really was the alcohol. I couldn't possibly have seen a wolf on his balcony. That was ridiculous. We finished our glasses of scotch and then Gray suggested we move to the bedroom. I enthusiastically agreed. He pointed the way and I turned and started to walk but he grabbed me by the arm. His grip was strong and his hands were much rougher than I expected them to be. He spun me around pulled me in close. Then he kissed me hard on the lips. His tongue invaded my mouth and it was nimble and urgent. His stench was overwhelming now, making me unbearably horny. I felt like I would explode if I couldn't get him inside me. We made out pass

Over four decades, I have practiced my interest in magic. With this book, you can learn and utilise its power. How do you define magic? It's not delving into the realms of the supernatural. Magic uses only natural energies and positive visualization to change our lives. We all have the invisible force to practice magic. Because we are surrounded by its energy. The energy that holds the power to bring good into our lives. Practice only practical magic and enjoy its force and power with a clear conscience. All natural products and ceremonial objects mentioned in this book are easy to obtain. When planning your spell, listen to your heart and your conscience. Rituals and spells are part of the ancient world and practice of witchcraft is more than religion. It is a way of life. There has been an enormous resurgence of interest in witchcraft and other magical practices. People have been rediscovering indigenous and pre-Christian systems of belief and spiritual practices. A prayer is a simple form of magic. It is energy sent out to the universe in a positive manner, and over time it is reflected back. Many dreams and desires have been fulfilled through prayer. These days we led such busy lives. With families to care the days, fly past. To find time for long, drawn-out preparations and ceremonies it can be difficult. However, solitude, soft music and candles can accomplish much. You can perform practical magic on a shoestring with ordinary, everyday household items found in your kitchen. Many are carried away and spend a fortune on all the artefacts associated with Witchcraft. Of course, it is nice to own attractive, ornate, ready-made items to work with. I seldom suggest buying. Never on impulse and only if convinced you do need them.I have described and explained the most popular spell casting aids used. The decision to collect these is yours. The book opens with a brief history of Witchcraft, and the horrific persecution suffered by the forerunners of the craft. If you a

Are you craving a way to eat killer food without killing yourself, animals, or the planet? Is your brain bloated from watching cooking shows that present recipes youre never, ever going to make? Have you been searching for a way to prove to your friends that vegan food can be just as delicious, hearty, and satisfying as the meaty meals theyre accustomed to? Then this is the book for you. Of his journey from watching food porn on his parents couch to cooking in Hollywood kitchens to becoming vegan, author Brian Patton writes: My roommate said he didnt know what made me a bigger loser: that I was painstakingly preserving episodes of 30 Minute Meals or that I was trying to conceal their existence by labeling them Star Trek. Once I discovered that I could not only survive but thrive without taking the life of another being, I was sold. I was a vegan. For good. And thats how an ordinary dude became the Sexy Vegan and started creating extraordinary food with a decidedly real-meal appeal. On every page, Brian proves that seriously good food neednt be too serious.

In the midst of post-war Korea, James Pae came into the world, as an only son to his parents struggling to find their place in the world. Unfortunately, at the age of five, Pae's parents separated and he and his father immigrated to America in 1973. With a single bag in hand, hearts filled with promises, and deep rooted dreams, they hoped to find a new life in a foreign land. Since that long ago day, Pae has come to embrace the American life in all its winding, twisting paths. From living in Chicago's inner city slums as a boy to his training with the Chicago Police Academy as a man, Pae learned to deal with the rigors of life in this new country. But it was when he met his future wife, Joyce, that the lessons learned from an early age in Korea to adulthood in America finally made sense. Letters to Gabriel shares his extraordinary story of hope, struggle, and perseverance in the form of ten letters written to his unborn son intermixed with commentary on Pae's life. Written while sitting at the kitchen table of his Chicago home, Pae's deeply intimate narrative encompasses the spectrum of human emotion. More than an autobiography, this story reveals the extraordinary link between father and son, and how our parents' sacrifices can sometimes only be appreciated once we make them ourselves.

In 1959 journalist John Roderick joined the Tokyo bureau of the Associated Press. There, he befriended a Japanese family, the Takishitas. After musing offhandedly that he would like to one day have his own house in Japan, the family-unbeknownst to John-set out to grant his wish. They found Roderick a 250-year-old minka, or hand-built farmhouse, with a thatched roof and held together entirely by wooden pegs and joinery. It was about to be washed away by flooding and was being offered for only fourteen dollars. Roderick graciously bought the house, but was privately dismayed at the prospect of living in this enormous old relic lacking heating, bathing, plumbing, and proper kitchen facilities. So the minka was dismantled and stored, where Roderick secretly hoped it would stay, as it did for several years. But Roderick's reverence for natural materials and his appreciation of traditional Japanese and Shinto craftsmanship eventually got the better of him. Before long a team of experienced carpenters were hoisting massive beams, laying wide wooden floors, and attaching the split-bamboo ceiling. In just forty days they rebuilt the house on a hill overlooking Kamakura, the ancient capital of Japan. Working together, they renovated the farmhouse, adding features such as floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and a modern kitchen, bath, and toilet. From these humble beginnings, Roderick's minka has become internationally known and has hosted such luminaries as President George H.W. Bush, and Senator Hillary Clinton. John Roderick's architectural memoir Minka tells the compelling and often poignant story of how one man fell in love with the people, culture, and ancient building traditions of Japan, and reminds us all about the importance of craftsmanship and the meaning of place and home in the process.

A must-read for anyone who has ever rolled their eyes skyward and asked, "Hey God, is there like a road map to life?"Srinagar was dressed in her autumn best. Like blushing brides, the trees were clothed in bright red, their graceful limbs swaying eagerly forth in the wind, and then, as if suddenly recalling their modesty, holding back just a bit. Neerja's grandmother was busy in the kitchen. The smell of pickles enticed the chubby little girl and she walked in to watch the elderly woman create magic with her wrinkled hands. Every now and then, she would steal a piece of sour green mango, flick it into the air and catch it in her mouth. The taste was heaven… pure heaven."Oh nani, I love you!" Neerja sighed. "This is the greatest treasure you could ever give me!"Oh, no, my little one", replied her grandmother, beating masalas into a bowl to marinate the cut raw mango pieces. "Raw mangoes are not the greatest treasure."I give up Nani! Tell me, tell me now, what is the greatest treasure?"Equal parts humorous and soul-stirring, the deeply personal and disturbingly honest I Inspire reveals how the human spirit is much, much bigger than anything it endures. Neerja Malik, a double cancer survivor, works with cancer patients to spread awareness. She was instrumental in setting up the Apollo Cancer Support Group at the Apollo Specialty Hospital, Chennai. She is also the trustee of the NGO 'Sankalp' that works at providing free education to the girls. Megha Bajaj is the acclaimed author of Thank You, Cancer, Apurva Vichar and Yes I can Write. A few months after our arrival in Scranton, I finally get up the Courage to ask Grandma Resuba the Question that is constantly on my mind. "Why do you hate us so much?" I say to her. "When mommy was here, you gave us milk and cookies and let us sit in your kitchen." For the first time since we arrived, Grandma Resuba looks me full in the face. Her eyes bore into mine, Blazing with hatred. She spits out her reply. "Your mother was nothing! My son had no business marrying a woman with four kids." Her voice rises higher as she rages on. "I'll never forgive her for marrying my son. I'm glad she's dead, only now I'm stuck with you miserable brats! Every penny and minute I spend with you takes away from what I should be giving to Alice. She's my flesh and blood, and you're nothing, just like your mother was." When her mother died in a fire, eight-year-old Jerri thought life couldn't get worse.
